Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Hosts Annual ArtsFest on Sweetheart Circle
Bulloch County Parks and Recreations continued the annual tradition of ArtsFest Saturday on Sweetheart Circle located on Georgia Southern’s campus to encourage children to express their inner creativity.
ArtsFest has been a tradition the Statesboro area for 35 years.

People gather for food, fun and relief every year for this festival.

Various “Art Stops” were located throughout the circle as interactive ways for children to learn more about art.

Clay factory, tie die, face painting and ARTchery were just a few of many stations held at the event.

Patrick Edenfield, a frequent goer of Artsfest, enjoys the event every year.

“I’ve been coming to ArtsFest for over 20 years now. I first came with my mom when I was 4-years-old and have been coming ever since. It’s a great tradition in our family and I continue that with my kids today,” Edenfield said.

ArtsFest has been bringing fun and happiness to Statesboro since 1982 when the first annual event took place.

The festival also features performances by the Statesboro youth ballet, GSU clarinet ensemble and the Langston Chapel Middle School step team.

Bulloch County Parks and Recreation worked very hard to make sure the event ran smoothly and everyone was enjoying themselves, but they couldn’t have done it without the help of the other sponsors.

Amanda Grant, a new comer of ArtsFest was more than satisfied with her first experience.

“I’ve been hearing about it for a couple of years, I always thought it was just a bunch of paintings and pictures, but it’s more than that. It’s very interactive and there are so many things available to participate in, my kid loves it and I plan on making this an annual thing,” Grant said.

ArtsFest was a success and is a tradition that will only see growth in the coming years.
